Kylie Minogue K25 / Timebomb Review.

As Kylie Minogue fans will know, it's the year of K25. Just in case you're not a fan, K25 is simply a celebration of Kylie's 25th year in the music industry...I know, I can't believe it either!

As part of K25 Kylie uploads a new video of some sort every 25th of the month. These have included videos from her Abbey Road Sessions; these being quite different to Kylie's 'normal' upbeat pop songs. She has taken some of her most famous hits and added an orchestral element. Although orchestral and pop are not really two genres you would put together, the production, direction and vocal arrangements work swimmingly and the recordings are outstanding.

Kylie has also posted a video of I Don't Need Anyone taken from her Anti Tour rehearsals. Along with this also came a clip of Cherry Bomb from the opening night of the Anti Tour.  The Anti Tour itself  was based around  b-sides, demos and rare tracks and was limited to only 7 shows; starting  on 18 March in Melbourne and ending in London on 3 April.

However, the biggest surprise came in May when Kylie posted a brand new song. It had been known for a while that Kylie had recorded a video, but what for, nobody knew. Kylie continued to tease her fans with hints about what the surprise was. This included a countdown on her website which simply said #tickticktick.  The song does not appear on any new album, it was very spontaneous and Kylie just wanted to share something new with her fans in this very special year. Kylie wanted to surprise us and it was all very hush hush, even close friends including Jake Shears had no idea this was happening.

We all had to tweet "#KylieTimebomb" 25,000 times to unlock the brand new song. It only took 43 minutes and there were a record amount of people logging on to Kylie's website to see the Timebomb go off!!!

Kylie shot the video on a very typical British day... it was freezing and raining!!  But this didn't stop her strutting her stuff down Old Compton Street, Soho, in her Dolce and Gabbana hotpants, heels and a Moschino Peace and Love biker jacket. Timebomb (produced by Paul Harris and Matt Schwartz and written by Karen Poole) is an amazing mix of pop and dance and instantly makes you want to get up, in your hotpants and shimmy. The song  is very energetic and Kylie asks the question "Do you wanna, wanna dance, like it was the last dance?" after listening to the song and watching the video (directed by Christian Larson) you will most certainly be taking her up on her offer!!!

My first ever blog... EEEK

Hello there..

Welcome to my blog, this is my first ever blog so please be kind :)

I was stuck for a while on what to write that would interest you all, until I thought I would let you know me a little. This blog is dedicated to one of my main inspirations in life Dannii Minogue. I will let you know the time I was lucky to meet her.

It was nearing the end of the year, and Christmas was getting closer and closer. Dannii had been to the UK previously for book signings for her new book 'My Style' which by the way, if you have not bought it or read it yet I would seriously think about buying it. It has all you need to know from packing to going away on holiday, to finding your own style. Dannii had been all over the country from London up to Birmingham then traveled farther on to Manchester to meet fans up and down the UK.

Some fans were gutted that they could not attend these signings, until Dannii announced another signing, a month or so on from the previous book signings, too one in London. I for sure jumped to the opportunity of meeting her again.

The book signing was at a shopping Centre in central/just outside London, in Stratford Westfield, at a bookshop named Foyles. This meant that not only did we get to meet Dannii but all Dannii fans could meet up and have a catch up with one another. The first people in the queue, queued up from midday on wards. I, myself queued for six hours to meet the style queen.

About half hour before the signing a person from 'Beverley Hills Cupcakes' came round the queue of people telling us that Dannii had all bought us cupcakes before we met her (result.. :D). We all took one each as we sat complimenting whether or not to eat them, as they did look as Dannii would say.."uh-may-Zing" ;-)

My two friends and I were the first in the queue out of a couple of hundred people and therefore we went up first. We were all stood there waiting nervously as well as excited. We heard cheers of people calling Dannii's name from on top of the balcony and from the outside the shop, as well as from inside the building and instantly looked up to see Dannii's arrival. We all stood there in amazement chanting Dannii's name as she came down the stairs smiling, looking absolutely gorgeous her own fashion label 'Project D', a very elegant black pearl necklace and red skyscraper tall heels.

My two other friends had just gone up to meet Dannii then it was my turn. Suddenly I got all nervous and shaky as I walked towards her. She looked up and instantly smiled and suddenly I felt a little more relaxed than what I started off with.
"Hi!!! How you doing? It's great to see you here"
She smiled as I stood there looking back at her in amazement as I replied.
We then started talking about what we were both wearing and Dannii points out that we both have the same style necklace on. I stood there in amazement at the fact it was a whole coincidence.
Dannii then signed my Brazilian friends book and I just stood in awe that Dannii was in front of me.
After a chat about the Royal Mail post and I giving her, her gift it was time for photos. Previously while we were waiting in the queue paparazzi had asked if the first few people would mind if we had our photo's taken for websites/newspapers and I for one jumped at this opportunity. Myself and Dannii stood there while the photos were being taken (it was like a real life photo shoot :D) .
After the photos had been taken I said my goodbyes and headed out the store towards my friends who were waiting outside, excited and shaking and not really believing that had just happened.

We all had a chat and decided to call over Dannii's PA to ask him if my friends and I could have a group photo and to our amazement he said of course he would!! We then walked over to where Dannii was standing watching her sign books for people and dancing along to the Dannii tunes which were playing in the background. As soon as she had finished with signing people, Dannii's PA headed straight over to Dannii to tell her that 'her girls' were waiting for her.
We all walked towards Dannii and decided who to stand where for the photo, and ended up having three group photos with her and an extra chat!! We were all shocked and stoked that this had happened to us. Dannii then said her goodbyes and ascended to the stairs out to the car park waving to us.

This day was indeed, the best day of my life. Dannii is generally one of the most caring celebrities out there for her fans. I would advise, if there is any chance you could meet her.. go for it!!! You will most definitely not regret it!!
