Dannii Minogue - This Is It: Best Of review.

So currently it's 01.23am in the UK & I'm laid in bed listening to Dannii Minogue's new song 'Cos You're Beautiful' off her new album, that came out at midnight 23/08, 'This Is It: Best Of'

This album contains songs right from the beginning such as 'Love And Kisses', '$ucce$$', 'Don't Wanna Take This Pain', one of my faves "This Is The Way" and many more. This new album also features songs from later in her music career such as "All I Wanna Do", "Disrememberance" & "Everything I Wanted". "Coconut" one of Dannii's songs which will guarentee make you giggle with the lyrics and sound made it to the album as well.

This Is It: The Best Of has one of Dannii's well known hit songs "I Begin To Wonder" and it features the amazing mash up of Madonna's "Into The Groove" & Dannii's song "I Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling" which is fabulous.

Not only does this album contain all these hits there are two bonus songs which Dannii had collaborated with. One of these songs is called "Cos You're Beautiful". The song was written by a former X Factor star Ruth Lorenzo which Dannii mentored on the show back in 2008. They both recorded this song in 2010 & fans were so excited to hear it. As you can imagine, we were so happy to hear it would be released on this next album, the wait is over! Another person Dannii has collaborated with is her big sis Kylie Minogue. They both sang the famous Abba track "The Winner Takes It All". With both their voices combined this track is literally breathtaking, their voices work so well together. This is the perfect collab if you're both a Dannii fan & a Kylie fan.

This Is It: Best Of is jammed full with 25 tracks of some of Dannii's hits through the years and is guarenteed to get you off your seat and dancing. This album will make you feel happy in no time. We all love Disco Dannii & so happy she's back with this greatest hits album. Woo!!!

Pitch Perfect Film Review

The 2012 musical film, ‘Pitch Perfect’, directed by Jason Moore (who has also directed Broadway show Les Miserables, as well as, TV shows such as One Tree Hill & Dawson’s Creek) is somewhat a comedy film and guaranteed to get you in stitches with its one liners. ‘Pitch Perfect’ stars actresses Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp. This film takes the aspect of, Disney film, High School Musical and completely revamped it to a modern style. The actors and actresses work together well to produce a feel good chick flick.

'Pitch Perfect' is typically set in a school but, with older students in a university as opposed to junior high. It brings ten girls together after doing the standard auditions to join a all-girls accapella singing group after failing the previous year at the finals. The auditions show that not all the ‘prettiest’ or ‘slimmest’ girls have got talent and this is what this film puts across to the teenage audience. It shows you that not everyone is the same and are all examples of what society consists of. The leading girl in the film, Becca, is not interested in uni life and wants to make it by being a leading record producer, which is quickly changed. She later in the film finds love, which has its ups and downs.

This outstanding block busting film takes both 'Bridesmaids' the film and 'Glee' the award winning show and mashes them together to create a quick-witted, easy to watch, first class marvel. ‘Pitch Perfect’ has suspense throughout which, while watching, makes your mind keep focused on the film. It elaborates on issues in the film but the underlying problems are what happens on a day to day basis with many teenagers.

If you are a ‘Gleek’ or interested in the cheesy musical films or generally interested in what girls have to say for other girls, I would highly recommend you should give this film a chance.. It is almost guaranteed to make you want to watch the film, over and over again.

Meeting Dannii Minogue 08-11-2012 :)

Meeting Dannii Minogue And Tabitha Somerset-Webb :)

On Thursday 8th November I got the opportunity to meet Dannii Minogue and Tabitha Sommerset-Webb again, which is always a pleasure, being a big fan of Dannii Minogue.

The day started at around 6am when I got up as I just couldn't sleep anymore from being overexcited about meeting my role model. Normally I have an outfit ready in advance but this time I had NO idea at all in what to wear, this resulted in a huge rush through my wardrobe in the morning to find something suitable.

I picked out a little black dress which is always a safe option to wear and toned it down a little by wearing a little denim waistcoat with black tights and 'military' boots. (They're really comfy and one of my favorite pairs of shoes to wear)

After deciding what to wear I was then able to choose exactly what I'll be able to do make up and hair wise. I ended up wearing make up which i rarely wear unless its for special occasions. I put on eyeliner, mascara, foundation and bright pink lipstick and did my hair in a bun, that way my hair was out my way.

Once I was ready and rocking I made my way to the train station and started the long day ahead of me. First of all I went to meet Patricja who was over in my hometown from Poland for the week. It's always so lovely to catch up with fans as you don't get to see them everyday.. (Wish you could!!!). We both headed into London together where we (finally) met up with Jodie :-)  We all headed to Westfields in Shepherds Bush where the Project D London watch launch will be taking place.

Once we arrived we headed for a coffee where we met Stacey then Stephen and also Lou and Claire came over. We did a spot of shopping then I finally finished the book and by that time. everyone else had turned up and we had a little reunion and catch up.

While waiting in the queue I saw and said hello to Dannii's make up and hair artist, the very talented Christian Vermak. He looked quite shocked to see that we had recognized him, how could we not? After all he is behind the amazing looks of Dannii Minogue and various other celebrities.
We had a group photo with the 'Twitter peeps' outside the shop and watched Dannii having her press shoot pictures. Myself and Laura were at the front of the queue and we were able to see Dannii having each shot. We called her name and she looked so happy to see us, waving and smiling. Dannii then did press interviews inside the shop and before we knew it, it was time to head in and see Dannii.

I was at the front of the queue along with two good friends of mine Laura and Shannon. We were lucky as we were the first people who got to see the Project D London watch collection, and I must say they are GORGEOUS! (reminder.. put on my Christmas list):) Shannon was the first ever person to try on a Project D London watch. I must say, it looked gorgeous! As soon as we looked at them we then looked over to the table where Dannii and Tabitha would be sat. They both sat there sipping champagne and talking among themselves.

Laura, Shannon and I then headed over to the table where they were sat and Dannii looked so happy to see us. I am sure she recognized me but I wasn't 100% sure. I stood there in front of the table taking in how gorgeous both Dannii and Tabitha looked. Dannii looked amazing and elegant in a aqua blue/green dress and Tabitha looked 'Rock chick', with a jacket over a black top and bright orange/red skirt, they both looked incredible.

Dannii stood up from the table and smiled shouting 'SHOES SHOES SHOES' at us. Normally when I go to see her I have heels on, a different pair every time since Dannii had given me the confidence at a previous signing, in Manchester. Unfortunately  I hadn't decided to wear heels this time and thought i'd let Dannii down, until she leaned over the table and said "You look good in boots anyway"; This woman always knows how to make you feel better about yourself!

I then passed her over a fan book which I had been working on for around two weeks collecting messages, writing them up and deciding the design for each page, on top of this I was working towards my A level media deadline, STRESS!! As soon as I gave it to her Dannii and Tabitha's faces both lit up with a smile and Dannii thanked me a few times. To be honest it's the least I could do with all she does for me. She then opened the book and seen the front page which said something like "We Love You". Dannii then looked at Tabitha and put half a hand heart up and smiled at Tabitha and said "I love them too" which made me smile, wide.
Dannii then began going through the book and seen pictures which Claire, another Dannii fan kindly printed off as I had a drama with trying to find a printer.
The pictures were from Dannii's early years and from recently as well, I tried my hardest to get a mixture, hope she was impressed.

Laura and Shannon then spoke to her and Dannii phoned Gemma, which was such a lovely thing to do as she could not make it.
We then went round for pictures and I gave Dannii my vinyl and my 'Love And Kisses' CD to get signed by her. We had a photo together then she looked at the stuff she was signing and signed them.
Dannii then said to Tabitha that apparently she looks 'like a boy' on her Love And Kisses album, which I can assure you she does not.
We then said goodbye and waved as we headed out the store.

Later on that evening I got a chance to speak to Nathan, Danniii's PA and ask him if we were allowed to get a group photo together. After waiting, until the end of the signing which was around half 8 we got let back in and we had a group photo with Dannii. This gave me the opportunity to give her a present that I bought her and also I gave Tabitha the same thing but in a different colour.

Dannii told me how she has been having weird dreams and that she hopes the present will help them stay away.
We then said goodbye and headed out the store where we waited right up until the security moved us along.

The day was so amazing, especially seeing my favourite lady but then also got to see people that I tweet daily, which is always a plus to catch up.

Until next time.. Bye!!:)

My lucky day, A phone call with Dannii Minogue... :D

Hi there.

As I'm typing this I am currently recovering from a fans point of view, an amazing day.
It started at around 6.55AM where I woke up randomly and had to do a quick scramble to my laptop to set it up to listen to Dannii Minogue on the Australian radio station 'Fox FM' particularly for the 'Fifi And Jules' show which Dannii was co-hosting.
On the show they were talking about different kinds of stories and I wondered if us, in the UK, could submit our stories, and who better to ask than the co-host Dannii? I tweeted her asking and she replied back with 'yup!'. I was so shocked and happy that I got a reply from her.
So I lay in bed thinking of what story I could say to her over twitter, and scrolled through my timeline, when the show she was co-hosting tweeted me asking if I could follow them so they could DM me, incase you're not on twitter, that means to direct message, like an inbox.
I then followed them waiting for my DM which said, whats your number and where do you live? I was so shocked. I sat there staring at it for a few minutes reading everyone's tweets saying that I was going to go live on air and that people on twitter who were streaming around the world and of course the Australian tweeps would hear me on the radio station. How exciting?
After a few minutes I finally DM'd them. About 20 minutes after one of the people who worked a"behind the scenes" at the radio station phoned me and asked if I wanted to speak live on the show and that would mean I would get to speak to Dannii. Of course I was going to say yes and they asked if I would be able to talk about London, with the olympics coming up. I could not believe I was on the phone to Australia for a start but when they told me I would speak to Dannii I went into a complete meltdown and got so excited.
They then told me they would ring back in 15 minutes or so. That gave me enough time to think of what to say before I spoke to them.
Sure enough after 15 minutes they did ring back double checking me with what to say. Then they put me on live.
I sat there shaking as I heard Dannii speak, sitting in my living room, on the complete opposite side of the world, live on their radio, talking to Dannii Minogue.
It was so difficult to hear what they were saying because the line was so muffled, but I tried my hardest to understand.

As soon as I came of the phone to the studio the woman that is "behind the scenes" at the radio station congratulated me on becoming famous is Australia. That did make me laugh. You could also say that this was the best start to a day.

Kylie Minogue K25 / Timebomb Review.

As Kylie Minogue fans will know, it's the year of K25. Just in case you're not a fan, K25 is simply a celebration of Kylie's 25th year in the music industry...I know, I can't believe it either!

As part of K25 Kylie uploads a new video of some sort every 25th of the month. These have included videos from her Abbey Road Sessions; these being quite different to Kylie's 'normal' upbeat pop songs. She has taken some of her most famous hits and added an orchestral element. Although orchestral and pop are not really two genres you would put together, the production, direction and vocal arrangements work swimmingly and the recordings are outstanding.

Kylie has also posted a video of I Don't Need Anyone taken from her Anti Tour rehearsals. Along with this also came a clip of Cherry Bomb from the opening night of the Anti Tour.  The Anti Tour itself  was based around  b-sides, demos and rare tracks and was limited to only 7 shows; starting  on 18 March in Melbourne and ending in London on 3 April.

However, the biggest surprise came in May when Kylie posted a brand new song. It had been known for a while that Kylie had recorded a video, but what for, nobody knew. Kylie continued to tease her fans with hints about what the surprise was. This included a countdown on her website which simply said #tickticktick.  The song does not appear on any new album, it was very spontaneous and Kylie just wanted to share something new with her fans in this very special year. Kylie wanted to surprise us and it was all very hush hush, even close friends including Jake Shears had no idea this was happening.

We all had to tweet "#KylieTimebomb" 25,000 times to unlock the brand new song. It only took 43 minutes and there were a record amount of people logging on to Kylie's website to see the Timebomb go off!!!

Kylie shot the video on a very typical British day... it was freezing and raining!!  But this didn't stop her strutting her stuff down Old Compton Street, Soho, in her Dolce and Gabbana hotpants, heels and a Moschino Peace and Love biker jacket. Timebomb (produced by Paul Harris and Matt Schwartz and written by Karen Poole) is an amazing mix of pop and dance and instantly makes you want to get up, in your hotpants and shimmy. The song  is very energetic and Kylie asks the question "Do you wanna, wanna dance, like it was the last dance?" after listening to the song and watching the video (directed by Christian Larson) you will most certainly be taking her up on her offer!!!

My first ever blog... EEEK

Hello there..

Welcome to my blog, this is my first ever blog so please be kind :)

I was stuck for a while on what to write that would interest you all, until I thought I would let you know me a little. This blog is dedicated to one of my main inspirations in life Dannii Minogue. I will let you know the time I was lucky to meet her.

It was nearing the end of the year, and Christmas was getting closer and closer. Dannii had been to the UK previously for book signings for her new book 'My Style' which by the way, if you have not bought it or read it yet I would seriously think about buying it. It has all you need to know from packing to going away on holiday, to finding your own style. Dannii had been all over the country from London up to Birmingham then traveled farther on to Manchester to meet fans up and down the UK.

Some fans were gutted that they could not attend these signings, until Dannii announced another signing, a month or so on from the previous book signings, too one in London. I for sure jumped to the opportunity of meeting her again.

The book signing was at a shopping Centre in central/just outside London, in Stratford Westfield, at a bookshop named Foyles. This meant that not only did we get to meet Dannii but all Dannii fans could meet up and have a catch up with one another. The first people in the queue, queued up from midday on wards. I, myself queued for six hours to meet the style queen.

About half hour before the signing a person from 'Beverley Hills Cupcakes' came round the queue of people telling us that Dannii had all bought us cupcakes before we met her (result.. :D). We all took one each as we sat complimenting whether or not to eat them, as they did look as Dannii would say.."uh-may-Zing" ;-)

My two friends and I were the first in the queue out of a couple of hundred people and therefore we went up first. We were all stood there waiting nervously as well as excited. We heard cheers of people calling Dannii's name from on top of the balcony and from the outside the shop, as well as from inside the building and instantly looked up to see Dannii's arrival. We all stood there in amazement chanting Dannii's name as she came down the stairs smiling, looking absolutely gorgeous her own fashion label 'Project D', a very elegant black pearl necklace and red skyscraper tall heels.

My two other friends had just gone up to meet Dannii then it was my turn. Suddenly I got all nervous and shaky as I walked towards her. She looked up and instantly smiled and suddenly I felt a little more relaxed than what I started off with.
"Hi!!! How you doing? It's great to see you here"
She smiled as I stood there looking back at her in amazement as I replied.
We then started talking about what we were both wearing and Dannii points out that we both have the same style necklace on. I stood there in amazement at the fact it was a whole coincidence.
Dannii then signed my Brazilian friends book and I just stood in awe that Dannii was in front of me.
After a chat about the Royal Mail post and I giving her, her gift it was time for photos. Previously while we were waiting in the queue paparazzi had asked if the first few people would mind if we had our photo's taken for websites/newspapers and I for one jumped at this opportunity. Myself and Dannii stood there while the photos were being taken (it was like a real life photo shoot :D) .
After the photos had been taken I said my goodbyes and headed out the store towards my friends who were waiting outside, excited and shaking and not really believing that had just happened.

We all had a chat and decided to call over Dannii's PA to ask him if my friends and I could have a group photo and to our amazement he said of course he would!! We then walked over to where Dannii was standing watching her sign books for people and dancing along to the Dannii tunes which were playing in the background. As soon as she had finished with signing people, Dannii's PA headed straight over to Dannii to tell her that 'her girls' were waiting for her.
We all walked towards Dannii and decided who to stand where for the photo, and ended up having three group photos with her and an extra chat!! We were all shocked and stoked that this had happened to us. Dannii then said her goodbyes and ascended to the stairs out to the car park waving to us.

This day was indeed, the best day of my life. Dannii is generally one of the most caring celebrities out there for her fans. I would advise, if there is any chance you could meet her.. go for it!!! You will most definitely not regret it!!
